CRNA Recruiting

Recruiting a new CRNA can be an expensive and time-consuming process for hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities. For example, the hospital has to pay someone to come up with a job ad and place the ad online, in medical journals and periodicals. The hospital waits for the ads to be posted and for people to respond, which can take several weeks.

Next, the hospital sorts through a stack of resumes to find the best candidates for the job after more time has passed to allow a certain number of resumes to arrive. More time and money is lost in arranging schedules and bringing possible CRNA recruits in for face-to-face interviews. The entire hiring process can take several months and cost the facility well over $50,000 to find a new CRNA.

Use a Physician Placement Service to Recruit New CRNA Staff

Many hospitals and clinics use the expertise of a physician placement service, such as Onyx M.D. to shorten the amount of time and effort spent to recruit new CRNA staff. For example, the hospital simply hires the doctor staffing service to find possible CRNA job candidates and provides a job description, list of qualifications and other needs to the firm.

A recruiter at the doctor staffing service goes through a database of CRNAs looking for jobs and contacts the nurses to find out whether they are interested in the position. The service may post the job opening on their website and contact their network of relationships to find more CRNAs. In many cases, initial interviews can take place in a matter of weeks instead of months for CRNA jobs.
