4th Quarter and 2014 Total S.C.O.P.E. Donations

2014 was an incredible year of giving for the Onyx M.D.'s S.C.O.P.E. program. With over $7,000 in donations this year, we are so grateful to have been able to contribute to so many wonderful charities! A special thanks goes out to those Onyx M.D. employees who submitted these wonderful foundations and shared with us the inspirational stories behind them.

Courage4Cancer

The mission of Courage4Cancer is achieved through multiple partnerships with The Spirit of Cincinnatus, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, serving as the fiscal sponsor. The organization is made up of 100% volunteers who share a common belief that we can achieve uncommon results when we work together to make the community a better place

Money raised benefits the Charitable Care Fund at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for those families who have a child (or children) suffering from a chronic care illness or a disabling condition.

Jaxon Strong Fund

Jaxon was born on August 27, 2014, and diagnosed with an extreme brain malformation, that the doctors are not even labeling with a name, and for which there is no cure. Jaxon has already shown how strong and special he is, accomplishing feats that doctors doubted he'd ever be able to do, and displaying small improvements each and every day. His perseverance and strength already shown is why his inspirational story and journey of strength is called, “Jaxon Strong”. Ultimately, Jaxon will need a miracle long-term but for now anything will help as his journey has just started.

S.C.O.P.E. Sponsors a Family for Christmas

Bebo is a cab driver for Yellow Cab in Denver.  After loading a wheel chair passenger in his cab, he tripped over the loading ramp and fell backward onto the pavement.  If it wasn't for an arthritic bone in his back, he would have been paralyzed from the neck down. He is learning to walk, use his hands and going to the bathroom on his own.  He has a wife, 3 children (2 girls and a boy), plus a grandson.

The Onyx M.D. Denver office shopped for gifts and delivered them to Bebo and his family while they spent Christmas in the hospital. His positive spirit is so inspiring!! We continue to send prayers that your strength continues to grow! Stay strong, Bebo!
